Mount Fuji is to Japan what the Great Wall is to China, that is to say a must-see place in your trip.
It is possible to reach Mount Fuji from Tokyo by train via Otsuki (ideal if you have a JR Pass) or by bus from Shinjuku (which we did), which will take you to Kawaguchiko station, near one of the lakes bordering Mount Fuji.
Our hotel had a terrace with a view of Mount Fuji, so we were able to enjoy the sunrise the day after our arrival.

Climbing Mount Fuji is unfortunately only possible until mid-September, so we decided to rent bicycles and cycle around the lakes Kawaguchiko and Sai, which allowed us to have very beautiful views of Mount Fuji.
